01 H6 outback check engine light

Renmazuo27's Photo Renmazuo27 14 Dec 2010

I'm posting on behalf of a mate who has a '01 H6 GenIII outback with the Check Engine Light on. Just wondering if there's a way to check for error codes without taking it to the shop to get it done.

I know for a fact on the '01 Gen III Liberty's there's the two black connectors you put together to get the CEL light to flash up a code, is there a similar thing for H6 outback?

Thanks for that aek, I had a look under his dash and for the life of me I could not find the black connectors (Hence why I made this post, though I should've said that in the title, easy enough to find in my lib). I found the green ones and two white ones that mismatch.

You cannot get flash code output on a true OBD2 ecu like the H6 has. You have to use a scanner.
