Herro,

Just wondering if anyone can help me and have replaced their stock seats in a 06/07 version wrx with GC8 seats before and if you were able to swap them without any modifications? Like am i able to use the same rails etc?

Iv only had this car for the past 2 months and i cant say its looking very promising that i'll get used to this extremely bulged out lumber support in this model of wrx :(

Seat rails are the same so you'll have no problems bolting them in. GC8 definitely have the best bolsters, much better that the GD newage fat guy seats

I didn't find them that bad, although I'm young and supple :P

Where are you located? If you're nearish to Newcastle at all we could negotiate a swap :)

hi,

as mentioned in your other thread you need to consider you are removing airbag equipped seats. you will also experience a fault light.

i still reckon the bug sti has the best seats
i now have the newish 06 sti seats and they dont hold you near as much
but im used to them already and i dont think they are that bad, although when i first got the car i wanted to put bug sti seats in it

btw as alexxx said you will be getting rid of your airbags

Thanks for the reply's guys..seriously torn about these seats have had my heart set on one of these cars for atleast 5 years, finally get my full license and cant drive it for longer than 20 minutes...shattering lol.

Are you sure about the airbags definately being in the standard 07 WRX? I dont think they are..i read somewhere if your seats had side airbags, you should have some tag on the side of the seat saying "SRS Airbag" or something similar, i couldnt seem to find anything when i looked

I found these seats on ebay not sure the difference between JDM and the USDM seats, guessing JDM is a better hold or skinny people? :D

What would you recommend??

2005 WRX JDM Seats

2001 WRX STI Ver7 Seats

http://cgi.ebay.com....=item230d3b5117

GC WRX

Personally like the looks of the 01/05 blue/black style seats tho the end goal is to be able to drive for 20+ minutes not to have pretty seats :P

And would the JDM seats still be a straight swap? im guessing they would be different?

Actually yeh i just found the SRS airbag tags on the sides of the seats..SHIT! so pretty much i cant change the seats otherwise the insurance company will rape me right?

the 05 seats are fat man seats

the 01 bug sti seats and the gc8 seats have the same hold pretty much,

if i was you id be ringing either the insurance company or an engineer about the airbag situation

and all the above will bolt in no problems, except the airbag situation
