Checking CEL codes

My mate has one at work, flashed a CEL code last night.
Went to check it how you would on a Liberty (plug the two plugs together under the steering wheel)
But there seems to be no unplugged diag cables at all.
Does anyone know how it's done? Or is it only done with OBDii now?

that's where the diganostic connectors are in my GT, same year model.
The B4 had them under the dash on the drivers.. but the GT is on the passenger near the actual ECU.

The only way to check for codes is to use an OBD-II reader.

This.I think that this model actually didn't have diagnostic connectors like the older models.

You'll need a scanner to check it, or you can pay Subaru $60 (!!!!) to do it for you.
I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.
It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.

Thanks Luke.
He was going to take it to an Auto-Electrician to do it. I'll let him know.

cable costs around $150 or so, learning view is free. able to view codes and erase/reset.
cable allows you to do a lot more (tuning, disable codes etc)

you need a tactrix cable and learning view.
No he doesn't.
He's just about to sell it, so he just wanted to check it and fix the problem.
