I want to convert mine into a more road friendly one.

How much would a new set of smooth tyres cost me? Or would I need new skinnier rims as well?

well on my moutain bike i opted fo rthe cheap option , the slicks i got were pretty much as wide a little smaller than the nobbies , but i got some huffy tires from kmart like $15 a tire they work ok

Electric drill, a cheese grater and a few different grades of sandpaper.. cheap, fun, messy.. what 3 things go together any better? :P

also trying to suss out one of these , best price is from the uk works out to be $40 shipped , most vital thing on a fixed gear bike is the chain tension , this stops the axle from slipping forward , you can have them on both sides , but you only really neeed it on the chain side of teh drop outs, mine came with one , but its a flimsy thing metal piece of **** haha

this is what i want, might see how much a fitter and machiner would charge to make me a custom one!!

the drive train on a bike is the most important part, you dont wont to low ball on that , i have one atm that working ok but its cheap and nasty starting to bend!! i need a tig welder or mig welder to do it, so its cheaper to buy one allready made =]

They'd probably sell them at bike shops?

nope been to 3 today they dont have them

I'm sure you could find one at a local bike store much cheaper.

um try $89 thats what the plac ei went said they would cost !!!

Tried http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/ ? In the UK but ship quickly.
As for that Wiggle - a bloke here is hard up for road bikes and uses either Chain Reaction or that Wiggle place.

Here's what my bike looks like

2002 Outback - it's gone...
