Hey guys

Installing an afteramrket tacho on my dads 84 sportswagon.

Not sure if anyone has had one or a brumby even would be similar

The guage I have requires power earth and a wire to the coil. I thought most tacho got the power from the coil??

Anyways the question is where should I draw this power from?? Ignition or accesories or either?? Ive had a poke around and ive found it hard to trace the wires so where should i tap into them??

Any help would be great :)
Cheers

i've got a ****-factor one in my Brumby..

well power and earth are easy (use a test light and find a acc power), and just run a new wire through the firewall to the positive side of your coilpack. and there might be a power wire to light up the gauge?

Yeah thats what i was thinking.

Where is the easiest place to tap into the accesories??

And yeah theres a back light. I was thinking I could wire this into the light behind the cigi lighter. It would then dim with the standard dash light dimmer.

Would this work??
