Love the JDM shadow chrome :) The AUDM/Euro shiny chrome and gold plated badging is so gaudy in comparison....

So I picked up some Bilsteins recently and finally got round to fitting them.

The old STi struts i had decided to evacuate all their oil over my cv's over the last few months... so its been a long time coming!

Out with the old

Nah, I used the king lows I had for springs, so I'm pretty sure it sits the same! Which is good!!

Better! The ride is still just as tight as the STi, but without the back breaking harshness!

Unfortunately I still have tracking problems over about 80ks!

Shame about the tracking problems. Can't help you there. Hope you get it sorted soon.

Yeh the Billies ride well for what they are, so that's a nice benefit for you now :)

Wheel alignment FTW.

Take it for a drive for about 20 odd k's (i.e. to your letterbox) and it should settle a little.

But yeah, wheel alignment.

directional wide tyres will always want to track. especially on the roads around you where trucks are the main culprits to ruining the roads..

I still want to see the align specs Adam...but yes, your shitty roads would also be adding to this.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

UPDATE!

Billies shit themselves, Put old STi Gear back in, which packed it in Friday some time, quite a scary drive home!

Needed a fast solution, so I ended up getting some BC BR Coilovers.

Adam and I started at the noisy shock, and discovered it was missing the lower retaining nut, which meant we had to use spring compressors in the wheel well to get it all out. NOT FUN!

How it came out without removing any bolts! (apart from the ones keeping it attached to the car!)

Posted Image

Anyway, After fitting the coil overs, and adjusting the ride height, took it for a drive. Instantly sold. I was expecitng a harsh horrible ride. But it isn't. Its smoother, quieter and handles so much better than the Billies/STi Shocks and King Springs. And I haven't even fiddled with the dampening yet! Its still on the factory 8 (dont know if thats 8 hards or 8 softs!)

Has revived some faith in the old girl, which is good, because I was considering a cliff as a good means of repair.

Pics to come!
