Hey guys i'm thinking of debadging my 02 outback, from the YouTube clips it looks quiet simple,
If anyone has done it can they fill me in on their thoughts!
Also, is the goo off thing available in Australia? or is there an Aussie equivalent?
Thanks
Steve

Someone at Bunnings can help you find the goo-off stuff. I just used cytrus de-sticky stuff from Coles

There will be 2 holes behind the 'Outback' badge.

The 'AWD' and '2.5' badges just have double sided tape to peel off. Use a hair dryer or heat gun to melt the glue for easy removal.

i used fishing line, metho and a rag. Parked the back of the car in the sun, sunk some beers and then me and a mate used the fishing line to pop the badges off and the metho on a rag to rub the goo and crap and just scratched and rubed the crap off, oh and we sunk more beers hahaha. So easy to do. Check my build thread to see how it turned out.

Thanks
Ben.

You can fill it with sillicon or similar and cover it with touch up paint.

Otherwise sand back, prime it, bog it, paint it, blend it, finish it. (Best to leave this one to the pros)!

I covered mine up with another badge and lined it up so it covered the holes

Instead of debadging it, you should do what Morgan done.

Cheers,
Shazza

Morgan that looks funky: Subaru legacy outback?

Best way to debadge is to use a heat gun and fan it over the badge glue so it lets go a bit easier.

A member on here kindly threw them in with another item I bought off him.
I believe they can be picked up from Subaru for about $40-50? Would need a Gen4 VIN to get anywhere though!

I got some cr@p from mitre 10. You get a tube of some stuff and a hardener and once it sets you can sand it back. Then I just went over it with touch up paint. Worked really good. Now I have no badges. Did the same for my roof rails and really works a treat if you have the right collie paint.
You can get sorta cheapish "SUBARU" badges off eBay (around $10-$15), rather than "OUTBACK". Or, autobarn sell chrome letters for about $3 a letter. I did that in the first place and didn't like it at all (there would most likely be a pic of it in my build thread).
But the gen3 ones are gai as.

Nah.... Shizen I can't remember the name of it. It's like a 2 part bond stuff. Sets like really hard rubber. Worked really good.

Would need a Gen4 VIN to get anywhere though!

Or find someone that knows how to click a couple of buttons...

Part number of the Gen IV chrome "OUTBACK" badge is 93073AG020 and RRP is $49.50.
FWIW, the Gen V chrome "OUTBACK" badge part number is 93073AJ010 and RRP is $68.90.

2002 Outback - it's gone...

hm cause the badge is almost as wide as the outback one, but i suppose the bodys would all be manufactured almost exact the same so they just stick them ones on.
Thanks
