Hey guys, once again im out on the internet looking for some cash friendly modifications for my gen 3. So far, as some of you would know, i have done my coil overs and sway bars. After a little bit of research i found a few "subframe" reinforcement type bars which are supposed to add to overall body rigidity and roll etc. I was wondering if anyone thinks these are worth it, or if any one can advise against or for them...experiences etcc

These are the links to some of the options ive been looking at !!

I can't help with your specific question, but you totally need a MSI rear subframe

If I were you, I would spend my money on some top quality sticky road tyres.

Dollar for dollar, the best way to improve grip.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Mate I honestly don’t think this is going to be a worthwhile investment for you. You’ve already got coilovers and swaybars but anything else is overkill unless your planning on doing a bunch of track work. A 450kw time attack car may see tenths of a second improvement and handling on a hot lap but I don’t think that you’re going to be pushing your car hard (i don't known how you drive so i could be wrong) enough to see the benefits. I know guys who run in open-class who don’t bother with these kinds of extra chassis stiffening braces. If you simply want them for the brag factor then that's a different story ;)

Complete waste of money for anything short of a dedicated race car.

I think the lower arm bar will help you as the car is weak at that point, it will bracve it tighter like when you notice improvment when you get a strut brace for the front. the rear subframe as the others said its an over kill unless you track the car, just like getting Brembos when 4pots and 2pots will do the job...But at the end of the day its your $$$ and its up to you what you want to do with your car..

Thats my 2cent anyway

+1, invest in a good set of semi-slicks. KU36's are good value for money, but if money isn't a problem go for some Potenzas :)

That subframe wouldnt fit a gen3,

I put on a H brace up front and noticed a nice upgrade, the Gen3s are pretty well built from factory and dont need much to get them right. Play around with your dampers and a good wheel alignment (not factory specs) you will see good gains. I run 1.5 degrees of front camber with a total of 1 degree of toe out, on the rear i run 1 degree of camber with a total of 1 degree toe in on the rear. Has been very good around wakefield and even on the street, the steering was much more direct too,

My b4 has,
Tein flex coilovers
22mm front sway bar
Cusco front strutbrace
Underbody H brace
Alloy control arns (factory)
20mm rear swaybar
Plated rear LSD
6 speed with dccd 35:65 split.
Tyres are federal 595s which to be honest were what i could afford at the time. If i had the cash id run kumho V700s for grip,

But start with the basics with replacing the factory bushes that are worn and a good wheel alignment, and see how u go

Yeah, thats a good idea actually, its just i love playing with the car.pulling it apart etc :P but i guess theres only so much i can pull apart before i either a) fcuk it or B) run out of money

I was thinking maybe just a lower arm barm..i mean i can get one shipped for $150 so not a complete waste of money i guess

Notice anything with the strut brace ??

Also, is anyone going to the next wakefield track day..me and a mate are pretty keen.

What made you go plated over Torsion?

IMO, plated LSD's are just an excuse to get sideways :P

Thats not a bad price, just a question did you look if whiteline does one and how much it is? I was toying with the idea a few years back when i bought my B4 with buying braces for under body rigity, but due to funds back then i didnt go with it and after a while went other ways.

Lets us know if there is any differences if you buy one and put one on..
