im just waiting on some pss9's which at this rate will take for ever, but ill be able to lower with them. im almost certain that lowering them will cause big scrubbing/clearance issues so i might hav to wide body kit the stupid thing, but if thats the case ill leave the lowering till later on in the project.
so next on the list is: (as mentioned) PSS9's + front/rear braces + links etc and possibly that gear box if i hav the funds (altho it wont be installed untill the R180 conversion)
glad u like fellas

ok some progress!!!
rims arrived, i rubbered them up (just P7's for now) installed on the car. i noticed they scrubbed abit around hard corners when it was loaded but not a huge concern.
next step is suspension, im in the precess of getting PSS9's, bilstein heasman quoted me something like like 4K which i thought was reasonable till i had a look on the net.....there're everywhere overseas for $2000 or less, so now im just waiting ona reply to my email.
with the left over cash i might even be able to snap up a DCCD STi box with matching 4.44 diff!!!
my question is will the REAR hubs from a RA gc8 (which are R180's) fit brembos without modifying them??!!
any help much appreciated, pics of rims very soon just gotta head to the shops to get stupid camera cable thingy.
Nick
hey mate just saw this.
RA hubs will fit brembos but make sure you get brembo rotors. Also they dont have abs sensors. If your car has abs get gd 01-04 hubs

I converted my mates 98 to dccd and it made a huge difference. so much grip mid corner.
Or go a possumbourne one which is the ssme price but is more suited to gravel

- There are a pair of grey plugs that plug into the standard low fluid light on top of the brake booster (no cutting/soldering required).
- There is a metal relay which you hide under the centre console
- You have to wire/solder in the power and ground for the controller (stereo or cig lighter wiring would work fine for this)
- Thumbwheel is on a switch right near the relay
- There is another multi-pin plug on the box which the 2nd biggest plug in your loom should go into.
- The biggest plug on the loom should go to an ECU. You can find these on Import Monster, mate.
The 6speed DCCD wiring is very different from this and actually ties into the ECU IIRC. The pre-06 DCCD wiring uses ABS inputs (unlike the5MT as it was only on non-ABS RA models) for the auto function, while the later 06-on DCCD 6MTs got a big upgrade in the hard and software, including a yaw sensor on the steering column to sense steering input.

That might help. Looks like someone's butchered your loom...

Iain, what's the logic behind this?

The connection to the handbrake in the above diagram makes far more sense.
