Gents,

Looking at refurbishing the suspenshun on the rig.

Question;

Shocks wise. Whats good? I don't want coilovers. I've been looking at the AGX Shocks (From KYB). They seem relatively good. Also looking at rebuilding some Bilsteins. Anyone have any input on their personal experiences?

I don't want the ride to be ridiculously hard, as its a daily driver.

I'm also going to be getting some front and rear whiteline swaybars, 22mmF and 20mmR respectively, new pineapples, and some link ends.

Thoughts? Open to suggestions. My ride height is is fine as it is, and i dont want it any lower. Just want it to be able to handle better, instead of handling like a, well, 11 yr old wagon.

Cheers gents,
Shazza

Bilstein struts from a b4 or gtb are a good upgrade, while keeping a comfy ride.

Maybe STI struts from an 05 STI onwards would fit?

Color. You want a nice golden color all the way around the fruit, especially the base. It is still good and ripe if it has green on the upper portion. Stay away from a dark brown color as this means the fruit is overripe.[/left]

Smell the bottom of the pineapple for a fresh, sweet aroma. If there is only a faint aroma, it may have been brought in too soon and is not ripening, as it should. Pineapples are sweeter toward the base of the fruit and this is your source of true ripeness.

There is no truth to the rumor that you can thump a pineapple to tell if it is ripe, though this does work for melons. For pineapples stick to your sense of smell and sight. A dried crown means the pineapple is sucking moisture from the top and may be overripe.

Once you have chosen the pineapple use it within a day or two. It is acceptable to refrigerate or leave it on the counter at home. Refrigeration will add a day of freshness to it and a crisp cold taste when served.

When cutting your pineapple, remember that they are sweeter toward the bottom. If you core the fruit and slice it in rings, some people will get very sweet servings and others more tart. Instead, slice the pineapple lengthways into quarters and cut out the core on each quarter. This way each serving has a bit of all flavors available.

Pink STi springs & revalved Billies FTMFW.

Be careful of going too stiff with the bushes as this will definitely affect your ride comfort. Just refreshing the rubber bushings you have now will do wonders.

I'd also add a roll centre kit from Whiteline :)

I've got King Springs in at the moment i'm quiet happy with, so chances are I'd prefer to reuse them.

Aek - Yeah, seen his car. Nice ride height.

Morgan - Thanks man. Will use that tonight when eating my pineapple.

Cruisin - Got some more details on that? Don't need the springs, just the shocks.

Sam - Linkage?

Marv - I'm thinking the following suspension wise;

1 x BSF15 (22mm Front SwayBar - Non-Adjustable) $265
1 x BSR12XZ, (20mm Rear SwayBar - Adjustable) $265 (Getting the one off Chris SAV84C)
1 x KLC20A (Sway bar - link kit heavy duty steel ) $94
1 x KCA313 (Roll centre/bump steer - correction) $259
1 x Associated bushes to fit. ($???)

Sound alright?

Cheers,
Shazza

Correct me if Im wrong but don't std springs with Bilstein struts raise the standing height?

I would use Koni (if they are available) shockers. I have had them in a few cars and they are great.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Shaz, what I mean is the spring saddle (mount) on a Bilstein sits further up the strut thus raising the height regardless of the spring. I could be wrong on this, so someone will need to confirm.

I remember SUBARU (Chris) put Billies/STi pinks in his Gen III and had height issues. Long time ago so I can't really remeber the exact issue or the outcome.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

AFAIK, Gen4 and Gen3 are different for strut fitment.

As if you'd rather POS King Springs over STi pinks.

Struts have 17k on them, springs have 12K on them.

I can confirm Gen2 Billies have a 2" higher spring perch. I fitted King Ultra Lows to mine for this ride height
