How to swap a round alternator plug to a s...

Hi all, I need to splice a square plug onto the round alternator wires on my Gen 1, so I can use a square plug alternator. The problem is that the original plug has more wires, and they are of different colour combos, so I have no idea what ones to splice together.This is a pic of the round plug wires:

And this is a pic of the square plug wires (note there are only two wires for this plug, there's just two plugs together in this pic):

find the warning light wire in the old plug and tap into that and the other is your sensing wire....

Should be stickers on the alternators that show wiring pin outs. I can't remember whether the diagram represented the loom side or the plug/alternator side though.
