Speaking of which, got charged $55 for Alisha's panel filter on the Mazda. Really though. He's like "You could save on labour by doing it yourself" - apart from the fact that this is a moronic thing to say in a cockfaced tone considering if everyone serviced their own cars he wouldn't have a 'ing job - how much am I going to save by paying $55 for the air filter, and then doing the 11 second install myself? Honestly.

Luckily my real mechanic has agreed to do Alisha's car from now on (he strictly only does Scoobz) - so that's a relief.

'ing oh, and. 'ing. He says to me

"We have checked the transmission fluid, and it's black so it will need changing ($260 job)"
"There must be something amiss as the 100K service was completed not long ago"
"Ha, mate, I don't know who the clowns were that did your 100k service, all these fluids need changing"

"AAHHH MIGHT WANT TO CHECK BACK, NEIL, YOU DID THE 100K SERVICE"

Don't think I'll recommend them in future. Shit thing is, they'd only just changed hands when the 100K was done, which seemed to go well, and before that it's always been really good as they were family to some of my friends.

All this shit I hear about shit mechanics, and having to go through heartaches all of my own, due to a mechanic's carelessness and simple incompetence, is exactly motherfucking what has lead me to pick up a spanner, and do my own shit.

The results at the hip pocket isn't exactly my motivation, but more the peace of mind that it's done perfect 100% WITH LOVE.

Find me a mechanic that puts love into his work.
