That would be the best idea. It might cost slightly more, but you'll benifit more. And they are able to be rebuilt.

ok sorry to bump this oldish stuff up but..

the guy im buying some rims and tyres off is also selling a full set of gc8 struts and springs

just wondering if they would fit, from reading previous posts i dont think the rears will fit my car.
any information is much appreciated, and if they dont fit, what/how easyily they can be modded to fit on.

car in question is a 1993 liberty lx front wheel drive wagon (g1 s2).

cheers.

Apart from the damper rate of the strut, the only difference I could think of it the mounting on the hub?

Anybody fitted a set of PSS9's to their gen2? They don't make a set specifically for our car but I figure the gc8 ones should be suitable. From what I understand they don't come with strut tops at all, you are supposed to use the oem rubber tops. Im guessing the gen2 tops should bolt up the same. Can anyone confirm this at all?
Cusco make pillowball strut tops for the gen2 so these would make a nice upgrade too.

Yes they will fit. Cheap and coilovers do not belong in the same sentence. You really get what you pay for
