Not all of them are bi-xenon. Some have a xenon element for low beam, and a regular halogen element for high beam. That's bi-xenon which I was referring to...
I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.
It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.

Not sure about that one, sorry - you could jus tget HIDs that are so blue that it'll counter the yellow or turn it green, one or the other!!Thanks clarance, I may take you up on that soon. The other problem that my wifes car has is the headlight lens are yellowy discoloured... Is there an afermarket supplier for headlights?
hehe thanks it's where I spend my money now that I stopped modding my car.Hahhah Clarnce, dude I have just entered the world of canon digital, and have just re-read your sig!!!!! Very very mo fo cool!
Also, is bi xenon the same kind of element as the HID's I got from Leo? ballasts and all that? just with a second element?
Bi-xenon actually just has the one element - almost all the hi/lo HID kits have a magnetic switch in the globe to extend or retract the globe to give it highbeam reach. The really old kits used to have two globes and they were both off-axis - terrible idea and it mean that light spilt everywhere.
True, that was so 2001 though! Thankfully those days are over. Not all of them are bi-xenon. Some have a xenon element for low beam, and a regular halogen element for high beam.

Anyone know what the new SH-series Forester has standard?
How hard would it be to upgrade if they don't come with the bi-xenon lights?
Base models get halogens and the xs and xt models get hid's. Pretty sure they are low beam hid only.

Would they be a straight swap you reckon? Between X and XS?
I want HID's...
Not too certain but I can't imagine it woud be too hard a job. I suppose the ballasts would come with the lights... You'll need to suss out whether they have any fancy self levelling devices or switches.
I reckon it wouldn't be cheap. Might be cheaper to retrofit some aftermarket ones like we did on the gen3's?
I'm already toting with the idea of getting some hid's in the gen4. Anyone done this that you know of? Might just try some 4000k globes to start with.

Well, not really modding - but I love my HID's on my Lib, and want the same for zee foz.
You might not have to replace the whole headlight unit. It might be as easy as swapping over the assembly at the rear of the headlight for an HID one.
It'll cost you a squillion to get them from Subaru.
Wait until you get it to see what the lighting is like with the OEM setup. Might be good enough to live with!
I waited to see what the MY08 lighting was like and I like the lighting spread so much more on the Gen4 compared to the gen3, apart from it being a little yellow. I'm not even convinced that I need to swap the OEM over with an HID conversion.
