do not get uel headers, do they sound good? yes.
are they a crap design? Yes.
i have a set and they crack, the car lost power when i put them on and i just dont like them. A mate has even length ones and got a small power gain and sound better, so i say Get some even length ones made up, so much better.

Just my oppinion mate. Comming from a guy who has uel.

I got a set of Borla/Perrin Replica uel headers off a guy in sydney and have had mine on for a while with no engine cover and they havnt cracked and still sound great. Car used to sound like a civic in high revs but now you can hear the boxer sound all the way through to the limiter. There was no power difference either. I guess its just personal preference too.

Hey Mate, i have recently purchaced some UEL headers/extractors from a bloke off ebay, who had them, but never installed and he bought them from the ebay site. THEY SOUND AMAZING

took me all of 40 mins to fit up, and yeah the car is still slow, maybe a bit slower, but it sounds like it will KILL anything out on the road, a mate even likend them to a V8 note!
just a deep rumble, but it quietens down on the highway a bit, and is less droney that the equal length extractors when you have a aftermarket muffler on

I will try post a vid of the note up on youtube tonight, and i have some videos of before the extractors

If you want boxer rumble then you must get UEL headers. Repeat, equal length headers will never ever give you the characteristic boxer burble.

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.

I would be very interested to know what brand EL headers he is running, and to hear an audio clip then, because it's the unequel quality of the UEL headers that creates the burble.
I'm not suggesting you can't get a nice deep rumbling note from equal length headers, but I've never heard any that burble.

With stock headers, 2.25" catback system and an oval muffler my lib makes sick boxer note from 0-4500rpm.

Past 4500rpm it starts to sound a little more balanced but you can still hear that little boxer right at the top end.

I love the way it sounds with stock heads.

I have gen 1 factory UEL headers on my outback.
Sounds sick.
So much better than the crappy replica ones. They're horrible.

From what alot of people have been saying the aftermarket eBay ones have a tendency to crack and sound tinny. You would be able to pick up some secondhand oem headers for half of the price you'd pay for the eBay ones
