Yep - loose blue metal in a mixed border of grass and wooden slats. At one point, the slats deteriorated while we were living there and we had to fix that up. Was much better than the original though :)

Don't have any pics though :(

Destination Unknown by Alex Gaudino was just on the radio...

Whenever I hear that song, my brain blanks out everything else and imagines the film clip :P

Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. Seriously cubts,  :fork: right off.

Hi,

Hotmix is not a cheap exercise, especially if you are looking for longevity. For a resurface of around 12m of footpath width it's around $900 - if there are works that need to be done, usually about 80mm of compact, you can easily double that figure. There is no point in doing it if you're not going to do some ground works, drainage and roots are killers to hotmix, especially if there is an area that you need to turn sharply with vehicles.

DIY concrete is OK, you'd have to box out a decent 100mm though, otherwise it'll crack so quickly.

Cheers,
Nik

I wanna do it properly, but can't afford to spend heaps!

And yeah the concrete wouldn't be half assed ;)

Also, I meant asphalt, like a road surface :)

I can do all the prep work myself which would help

Concrete up to the house, then 2 concrete strips up to the shed

Posted Image

But I want it to widen up at the shed so both sides can be used without destroying the lawn.

Posted Image

And alot of the concrete is deteriorating because of the drainage issues. Which I will be fixing first.

Would you get rid of all that concrete leading up to the garage? Start a fresh?

Car related question - TD series turbos have a 2.5" inlet, yes?

Whatever mang.

@Morgan: You wont be able to hotmix over existing concrete if you want it to last through a winter.

If you want to measure it up I can compare to the work I've been doing here and let you know a roughy price to work off.

..... I am not sure what I am reading right nyar..

Asphalt and Bitumen are the same thing.... the black tar shit. Hotmix is just that, a mix...... they add like rock or gravel or some other shit to the asphalt/bitumen whatever you want to call it (same thing).
