Hi Guys,

about to get my hands on some new rims and I want to set them off with some aftermarket wheel nuts.

Just wondering on people opinions,
  • Where to buy
  • What to buy
  • What not to buy

etc.

Good and cheap = muteki spline drives (ive uses the open end spline drives for years)

Good and not so cheap = mcGard (fair few people use these..ensure theyre not fake)

Good and hard to find = project kics r40/r26 (going on my new rims)

Good and everyone has them as they look great = rays (easy to find..just make sure they are legit)

Thats my experience anyways :D

Just remember with alloy nuts, its a good idea to spray the crap out of them and the stud threads with wd40 to remove any alloy particles

As with constant removal the shavings build up and begin to bind on the stud..causing broken wheel nuts...or wirst case snapped wheel studs

And its a good idea to get new ones every year or so (i do this with the cheaper muteki nuts) if theyre removed a lot....not a must if they arent removed much and are cleaned when removed

lugshack again from me great service price and product.

Have you put any more thought into squeezing some more power out of the engine. Like strapping on one of those intake fans

I rate Muteki's, had a few sets.

McGard's are what I use now and love the washer seat design as it doesnt wreck wheels.

I have WORK 11R's now and had to match them with WORK RS nuts.

Muteki and McGard buy from lugshack.com, but get a few guys in on it as shipping is the same for 1-3 sets to lower the cost.

Mate have a read of the below link. I got a half decent set and because subaru used a ratchet gun they strip the inside of brand new lug nuts. Long story short I made Subaru pay for these http://www.amazon.co..._sim_sbs_auto_2. But when I tried to take my previous ones off two of them where stripped completely and I had to do the dodgy and smash a shifter piece over the top of the lug nut to remove them.

Moral of the story……buy a good set first time

Have/had McGards, Muteki, Gorilla and Kics (real ones, not the fake shit on eBay/forums popping up now).
Used rattle guns on all on them to undo them, rattle gun and torque stick to do them up. Never cracked or broken one.

Get whatever your budget allows.

The Rays look good, but I would be wary of fakes --> http://www.upgrademo...duraluminum.htm
