While your case was fairly extreme, I wouldn't normally expect service to be 'bend over backwards' when you get a wholesaler to broker the deal for you. Still. Poor form on the switch-a-roo.


This is probably true.

However, dad did all the groundwork. Initial contact, starter the negotiations, etc then handed it over to the wholesaler to see if he could do anything better. Both were treated like dirt.

It would be expected for a standard second hand car dealer on parramatta rd or something but this is a luxury car dealership and dad was there with a $60k bank cheque...

Anyway... We ended up going for a private sale in the end, getting the top spec model for a cheaper price with less km.

Yeah I think you definitely got the unnecessary run around on that one, mate. I was just mentioning because I've been sat in the office at a stealership and heard what they say about wholesaler enquiries after they hang up the phone....

I've had some shocking experiences trying to buy cars from Screwbaru down here. They wonder why people travel to Perth. I remember going to see what I'd get for my car, and the bloke insisted on knowing how much I was going to spend on the next car - made no sense, we went back and forth for a bit - how am I meant to know how much I am spending, before knowing how much they'd trade my car for? Only went on for a minute or so, then he told me to Posted Image off. Literally. Posted Image off! Haha, that was a funny old day.

When I was looking for the B4, the DP at a stealership my mate worked at laughed in my face when I said I wouldn't pay more than $24k for one. Looked online, found one within the dealer network they were attached to, got my mate to drive me there and I bought it, for much less than 24. Drove it back behind my mate and got their service team to clean it as a deal I struck with the other dealership. Haha. He was an angry fat man after that.
