Just went to Supercheap and they have Castrol Magnatec 10w40 for $29. I currently run Castrol Edge 5w30 but want to go thicker for summer. Magnatec any good for TT's?

Should be fine mate, especially at that price.

There has been some discussion on oils previously where a few people have mentioned what they are using, here.

Hope this helps!

Just bought some. I wanted something thicker. No jokes please.
Being summer and all and just clicking over the 150000k mark I think it may help.

Fuschs is a good budget Synthetic Oil. Magnatec is not synthetic.

Its a synthetic blend eh. But it will be fine for my driving as I don't work it too hard.

I use it for the first time on my new sube and dont recommend it. It burns too quick, after around 500km driving it is nearly black as, going to swap to Penrite on the next change.

Just clicked over 600km on my car with magnatec and its still golden and hasn't used a drop. It must be that I got a good egg.

I dare say you have an issue then. I used Magnatec in the shitbox for a good three years. Changed it every 5000km. Well actually it tended to get drawn out to 15-20k service intervals. It always held up.

Mines pretty black, been about 7000kms, due to change it. Going to put in Mobil Delvac MX 15/40 after reading a thread on rexnet.

It lasts for AGES....

guys, you do realise that if your oil is BLACK and not golden then it is doing its job! oil isn't just for lubricating it keeps the motor clean aswell... its a good thing if the oil is getting dirty and the stuff not sticking in your engine! it means its picking it up off your engine, if its that black then change it!

Cheers Alex :) Johnny - next time you're in north sydney for work, or swinging via my place let me know. I've got something which may help your engine out and may help to clean any crap that's in there. Just let me know if you're in North Sydney and I'll bring it in.

One would hope that if he was swinging by your place he'd be letting you know anyway :P

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.
