Well it has been a fantastic year in motorsport for me in 2013, I opted out of supersprinting to focus on the dirt and skidpan motorkhanas and khanacross events and have taken out the top spot.



Thanks to Rising Sun Subaru for supplying me with some great parts at very reasonable prices and thanks to MSR Engineering for the strong and very reliable tune.

Here is my video highlight reel which pretty much covers most of the events I attended this year, please watch in HD.

Ansell Park Dirt Motorkhana

I got the rex out of the shed for 2 races this weekend, the first was a dirt motorkhana at Ansell Park at Richmond which is round 1 of our motorkhana championship series. The tests were very tight which made it very hard to get up enough speed for a decent handbrake turn. I finished 1st in class and 7th outright.

CNCSCC Dirt Autocross

The second event was a dirt Autocross with another club I have joined which have an awesome dirt based motorsport complex up a Nabiac which is just near Forster on the mid north coast. I wasn't running rally tyres like the other competitors but still managed 5th in class and 5th outright from a field of 53 cars.

I had a couple of dramas on the way home, a rock had lodged in between the backing plate and rotor on my rear brakes and was squealing like the rear wheel was going to fall off. Then I got a flat tyre at Gosford and had to drive no faster than 80km/h the rest of the way home.

The one up at Nabiac is a blast! only $25 per year to join the club and you need a Cams L2S license to compete. With that you can do the Autocross, Khanacross and S1 rallysprints.

How do you get the cams license? Are there and regs on the cars?

You just need to join a Cams affiliated car club like cncscc or Impreza Wrx Club and then apply online at the Cams website, its $110 per year for the L2S. You can get a helmet for about $60 at a motorbike shop and a fire extinguisher at Bunnings for $20, you need to secure it to the front of the passenger seat.

Got a couple more videos for you guys. Today we had round 2 of the Impreza WRX Club Motorkhana Championship (sponsored by Ichiban Imports) which was held on the skidpan at Sydney Motorsport Park.

 

I finished in second place by a mere 1.6 seconds.

RTDC Track Day I went on with my brother a few weeks back... I have another vid from passenger view on my helmet but its a bit bumpy and out of focus...

 

His quickest was 1:07.223 in the final session but gopro battery died
