I knocked up this today. Not much to it, But may give others the idea.

Instead of crawling under the dash every time I wanted to check Engine codes. I thought I'd put some switches in.

You need, 2 switches of your choice, Wire, Plugs (for these I managed to source some from another members spare loom but I'm sure they are standard plugs) Instead you could use crimp on terminals aswell. Heatshrink

Step.1 Cut fit switches where you want them, I cut out the blanking plug I had on my dash.

Step.2 Solder It all together, Covering the switch terminals with heatshirnk. Obviously Green to green and black to black on either side of the switches.

Step.4 Plug into car's loom, test and then fit blanking plug back into dash panel.

Step.5 Enjoy easy code checking. (switches need better fitting i know :))

Nice and neat! Would rather not have the engine throw a code so often I need to make up switches for it though :sarcastic:

I can't take the credit for the idea, I've seen it elsewhere. But thought I'd make it up instead of purchasing! Cost me about $5 :)

Nice work dude. I have a similar set up in the Forester. Heaps easier than getting underneath the dash and finding the plugs!
