That is not good news about the car mate and I had the same thoughts with my Blitzen but a few tears and angry nights (about 3 months ) I managed to fix it but that is not always possible (without a load of cash) so just think it over for while because you can get that love back with another car or transfer the parts you like to another car so it is still your own style :)

Can someone on the coast take the crack/ice pipe of JKong, because he must be losing his mind.

No can do, He lives in Umina. Its just in the air/water down there

anyone around who can lend you a known working O2 &/or temp sensor?

I could drive up for a quick swap-see - Umina is only a 30min drive and quick hop through the time portal at Woy Woy, but I suspect my single-sensor JDM is not what you need.

Get a $10 VAG-COM cable and FreeSSM - at least you'll be able to look at what the ECU sees from the sensors in real time.

True true, I borrowed my mechanics scanner and it worked a treat and looks very similar to the one in the pic and did you manage to fix it?

The scanner was pretty cool. Good unit.

I've ordered the OEM O2/AFR sensor and I'm now fairly confident it will fix the CEL's.  Just playing the waiting game now.

After a few days of soul searching I've decided to stick with the car. I've spent too much time and money to start again on something else from scratch and I would only lose out financially.

Why spend 15 -20 k on a newer car when I can spend half of that to turn my car into what I want.  So what I need to do now is change what I don't like about the car and make it more suitable and comfortable for my daily driving.

Firstly, I'll be removing the coilovers and replacing them with Bilstein struts with Tein springs.  Looking forward to finding out how they feel & make the car sit.

MY leather Recaro replica seats have been uninstalled & were replaced by some mint standard RX 2.5 black velour front seats.  My back is already thanking me. Lumbar support, 2 way base adjustments, comfort & they actually fit perfectly with all bolt covers in place too.

Very nice to look at IMO.... neat....OEM.

After all my seat swapping I have gone full circle. Back to standard seats.... and you know what?  They are awesome and they only cost $30!!!!

So now I have the $60 interior..... $30 for the front seats + $30 for the rear leather seat & door cards.   Winning.

A stereo upgrade is also on the cards. I'm sick of the tempremental MacIntosh sytem picking and choosing what music will be played.  Everything will be replaced.

A new set of wheels will be sourced.

Front & rear bumpers are to be painted or swapped (I'd like to change to the Etune front bar & lip if one pops up) and the boot spoiler & badge holes will be repaired.

A low KM front cut will be sourced and hopefully include HID lights, H brace, Momo wheel, dark wood grain console pieces & complete rear subframe/diff assembly.

The current engine bay colour scheme will be scrapped.

A new radiator will be purchased.

Monsoons as well.

New slotted discs & pads all around with braided lines.

Whiteline bump steer kit.

Aircon re-gassed.

And most importantly.....Brant alarm binned.

There's more for the list but I'll add to it as I go.

I like how you seem to have given this a lot of thought. Good stuff.

Also stock seats can be really good at times. I do agree with the gen 3 seats being fairly comfy.

Good to hear your sticking with it Josh. Massive thumbs up.

Ahh the brant alarm, mine has started working again in the last week, and by working, i mean car not starting, shutting down in the middle of the highway and randomly going off while sitting in the car.

Can't wait to bin it either.

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

I should just convert to single, right?

Woooooo!

I agree, Gen 3 seats are awesome. That's why I pulled out the WRX seats :P

I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

Good plan.

This is YOUR car. Not a production car with a few bolt ons. It's a part of you.

I'll be around when it's time to swing spanners and freshen it up.  :drinks:
