boost problem

Hi all
I have noticed today when my boost guage gets to around 8-10 it dies & has abit of a cough & even seems like it has a miss or flat spot type of thing...
Does anyone have ideas what it might be? My rex runs a unichip & tomei upgrade turbo & also run a greddy profec b elec adjustale boost controllor....normally boost is around 15-17psi......
