Tyre is Australian term, Tire is your American term. Like Jail and Gaol.

What are the yellow and red dots on the side of the tyre for?

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Weight. Usually the yellow dot will mean the lightest point of the tyre and the red the heaviest. Thats why the yellow dot is fitted around the valve to minimize the weight on the tyre/ wheel when balanced.

Ha ha, I'm only messing. They are the best option I've got at the moment. RE050's or S001's are way too expensive for me.

S001's Highly recommened. KU31's 9/10 always go lumpy, just not a fan. Sorry guys just my opinion, if they work for you fair enough. On a lighter note, chucked some forester  17" 5 spoke machine face with 225/45/17 S001's on the front and RE001's on the rear.

Are KU31s directional? 9/10 people haven't rotated their tyres frequent enough.

Are you saying 'lumpy' across the entire surface/centres/shoulders?

you get lumpy/feathered/cupped tyres when toe alignment is way off..

my old re001 potenza tyres had jagged edges in one direction. Cross rotating helped reverse the wear over time. Directional tyres like my ku31s can only be rotated front to rear. Or you can remove the tyres but that wastes time and money.

Cars with negative camber need a little toe in...toe out with neg camber and youll be wearing out the inside of the tyre much faster.
