Hey guys,

Just picked myself up a set of Monsoons/Weathershields for my Gen 3 sedan. Naturally being used, they have no instruction manual. They however did include a whole heap of clips and screws.

Can anyone with a Gen 3 (Possibly even a Gen 2, as I imagine they are the same) tell me how I go about fitting them?

I've also bought new double-sided tape to replace the old stuff on there.

Cheers

P.S. Hopefully this should help anyone else looking to install a set in the future :)

oh :fork: what a c**t of a job that was to do on my old gen 2. normal double sided tape wont work you need to go to a smash reapir supplier and asked for UHB (ultra high bond) double sided tape. cant help with the clips i gave up and just used the tape.

Have you put any more thought into squeezing some more power out of the engine. Like strapping on one of those intake fans

In the forester, you pull down the rubber seal and screw the clips in the predrilled holes. Tape is used to hold it all together whereas the clips are the main secure.

So the clips screw in to the body(?) and the monsoons tape on to the clips? Have I got that right?

Sorry...

1. Tape on the back of the monsoons.
2. Pull down rubber seal
3. Screw clips into predrilled holes under the seal. The clips poke out further than the seal so you can now;
4. Put seal back in place
5. Attach monsoons to clips
6. Peel off tape to secure monsoons to car. Firmly but gently.
7. Beer

From memory, this is how I did mine...

When I did mine on my old gen 3 I didnt have any of those clips and  only used 3M automotive double sided tape from Bunnings with no problems...

Oh, you'll notice on the underside of the monsoons themselves, there'll be little divots where the clips clip into

I can get some photos of how mine are installed tomorrow if you'd like.

Not sure if they would help though.

There you go man, only the front brackets screw in the others just clip on under the rubber seal.

Just make sure you get good double sided tape, mine's starting to come off but the clips are still holding them on fine.

Cheers
