I've found GasCubby on the iPhone to be pretty good. They've recently been bought out and the app is awaiting a new release so I'm keen for that.
I just find it hard to get the wife onboard with my fuel usage nerdery

I use Road Trip by Darren Stone. It received a pretty decent update a little while ago and suits me perfectly.

Looks like dis one

If that's it, then it is not available for the iPhone.

Hey guys, its been a while.

The car is going on the JEM dyno this Saturday with the wrx club dyno day. I haven't done any mods to it, just wanted to make sure it was running healthy. Will post the results soon.

Well the results are in and I'm more than pleased, mostly because she is running healthy but she is also making decent power.

Very nice mate. What's next? Thinking about breaking the 200kW mark? :P

Nothing any time soon but I would still like to at a minimum get an exhaust and MSR tune. I don't really think its worth the expense of going to a larger turbo for what I use this car for.

You'll be happy with a tune and exhaust. Bigger turbo's sometimes just mean more work and strain.

I just read all 19 pages of this - Awesome!

And what a great end result!

I've wondered if the 2.5L spec 5th ratio is the reason for your economy, slightly higher revs than the turbo spec 5th ratio could keep it out of the boost zone at cruise.

If I've got my facts straight and my memory serves me correct generally subaru 5th ratios look like this:

NA 2L = 0.87:1
NA 2.5L = 0.78:1
turbo = 0.73:1

I reckon you've got the 0.78:1 ratio.

Once again, sweet ride and a good write up with a neat ratio of pics and text ;)

Cheers

Bennie

I'm not sure Bennie, the RPM looks the about the same as my 05 wrx when sitting around 110km/h on the freeway. The guys from Ichiban said the tune was a touch rich if anything when it was on the dyno so I should see a decent improvement in fuel economy once I get it tuned.

Yeah no love for the gen 4. I may be visiting a local rally champion's house this week, apparently he has a collection of Subarus.
