Yup... thats me... parents took me out of Singapore when I was 12(but registered on the military service list), paid a bond which they have now lost because I didn't go back and spend 2 years of my life there when I was 17... I went to uni instead and graduated.. but I became a citizen here when I was 14... but doesn't matter... I'm a criminal there, so can't go back... not that I really want to anyway...

 

It is a stupid rule for a tiny dot of a country...

 

I have a friend who did the 2 and a quarter years of his service and before he could finish, he had to come back to Sydney for his uni exams or something, so he came back, missed the deadline to go back to Sinagpore and is now in the same boat as me... and he actually wasted his time serving in the national service...

 

Anyway, so I know I can't go back, which is why I feel like I should back off so my friend can have his bucks in singapore, but then he really wants me to be there, which is why he came up with thailand

I love getting home only to find I have left the house and store keys at work, luckily someone was home so I could take this crap I am currently enjoying.

So what you are saying is that you can't decide if you want him to go to Singapore without you or go to some other third world nation with you?

Sounds like a problem that people from Singapore suffer - unable to make decisions... maybe if you go back there for this trip and the police try to arrest you... ask them if they really want to arrest you... and then while they debate among themselves for the next few hours ... make an escape and enjoy.

yeah i am mate live on teds (edwards hall) plenty of fun, but expensive hence why im moving into a house next year


I was actually considering Bara ($266/week) but its a bit of a risk if my health makes me drop out and all that money is wasted. Plan was to stay there during the week and come home (Taree) on weekends but it doesn't seem too realistic after having a decent think about it. Might just settle for a Diploma through the local TAFE and get credit towards UNI when it better suits. (Studying Nursing btw, started in 08 and had to restart a few times due to shit medical conditions.) One day.....
