Hey everyone, got an my00 rx lib, but i need to clean it up a bit to get it lookin nice, few little dings and what not), couple of small stone chips/surface rust spots in the paint which i figured i could carefully touch up with some factory colour paint, overall happy with the cars looks once i get her all shiny and dent free, i like the look of the front bumper (i have the one with circular foglights) and was gonna whack on a small lip at some stage to make level with the sideskirts, but i love the look of the honeycomb, black grills of the facelifted gen3, anyone in southeast melbourne with a spare, or know where i can find one cheap?? thanks in advance for any input!   :D

also my rear spoiler is faded/oxidised, looks shocking, i was wondering if i could sand it back a bit, prime it and use some factory touch up paint, or whether i could just polish it out??

Hey mate, it appears there's a honeycomb grill that you're after for sale here: http://www.subyclub....-liberty-parts/

Only thing is that honeycomb style grilles were from post facelift, and if your ride is MY00 then that's pre facelift, so the grille won't fit (at least that's what I understand, might need someone else to confirm).

Cheers

Facelifted grille won't fit.

Re spoiler - if it's gone through the clear coat, it will need to be resprayed. Shouldn't cost too much to get done professionally (<$150)

Check this video for paint chip touch up tips!

Facelift (series 2) grille bonnet and headlights are all different to the pre facelift (series 1), unless you decide to change all that then they wont interchange with eachother.
I was going to do the same thing but other way round. Alot of money just for a grille so just stuck with what I had and put an aftermarket job in.

My spoiler has started doing the same, but i think because its only just started ill be able to get it polished out, depends how bad it is really.

Is your spoiler blue by any chance?

Rev D -E grille won't fit your bonnet or bumper mate.

sweet thanks for the info guys yeah i just like the plain black look, but the one on it now will do for the time being, its dark grey so it goes well with the silver wheels, thankis for postin the vid Morgan, so you reckon i couldn't use the touch up paint that i use for the stone chips etc.? and then spray some clear coat over? or is it better to get it professionally sprayed

and the car is Dark Green

You can give it a go yourself but it will never be quite the same as a pro job.

Keep in mind, the difference between an average paint job and an excellent paint job, is the prep.

Sand it right back, fill in any dents, primer, paint, clear coat. The lower the pressure of your clear coat, the more chance you have of getting orange peel (there's not much pressure coming out of an aerosol can). So after you clear it, you can wet sand it back and then buff it right up to get that smooth, silky finish.

Only problem is, a spoiler isn't one big flat surface like a bonnet or door, etc. it will be harder to remove imperfections like orange peel. If you have access to a spray gun and air compressor, use that to spray and clear. Results will be epic!

My legacy e-tune grill has a fine honeycomb or my rfrb grille has black mesh both will suit rev a-c / pre facelift.
No they are NOT for sale.

Mate is the grille off your REV D-E car? Because if it is, it won't fit this chaps REV A-C.

rev a-c is like calling the car a series one and a rev d-e is a series two.

rev a-c 1999-2002 i think ( the grill is rounder)

rev d-e 2003 (squarer grille)

Yes. The Rev A-C grille is smaller too.

Rev D-E lights have bullet style indicators and are a different shape slightly also.
