So thanks to the government not really knowing how to stimulate the economy, most of us should get some free cash...
Tax Bonus for Working Australians
The Government will provide $8.2 billion to eligible taxpayers as a Tax Bonus. The Bonus of up to $950 will be paid to Australian residents who paid tax for the 2007-08 financial year after taking into account available tax offsets and imputation credits. The Bonus will benefit 8.7 million taxpayers.

The Bonus is subject to an income threshold. Eligible taxpayers will receive a bonus of:
 • $950 if their taxable income is up to $80,000;
 • $650 if their taxable income exceeds $80,000 to $90,000; and
 • $300 if their taxable income exceeds $90,000 to $100,000.
The payments in respect of the 2007-08 tax return will begin from April 2009. Taxpayers will not need to apply. These payments will not be taxable or included as income for social security purposes.
Looks like the car should get some lovin' :D

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.

Ohhh. Nice!

How do we know if we fall under this category?

YAY!!! I was just reading this on SMH and my jaw dropped :D Just thinking of what I can do to my car for this? Either Sports Exhaust or re-spray of the rims... the exhaust will be more then the $950 so I will have to fork in a bit for that.

How many tax offsets do you have?!

One would understand it to be paid to those who don't claim tax offsets or benefits, as those who do know how to cheat the system got their payouts before Christmas, ergo Daddy-O got a new tint, now it's my turn me thinks. Nick

If thy tint is dark and thy wheels are black thou car be declared b11tchin'

So you can run it on 6psi with an rx fuel pump? :P

I agree, that's hopeful. Mine will go towards.....hmmm....The interior being redone in the Mini, or a respray for the Gem, or new rims for the Liberty.

Tristan will be glad, he's just covered the fuel costs for his conversion trip :P
