What's a good oil to use in the gearbox and diff?

I was thinking 75-90 in the gearbox and 80-90 in the diff.

The gearbox and diff has a few Kms on them so I was thinking of putting some of that nulon treatment in with the oil, good idea?

Think you have it pretty spot on. Was told to use 75w90 in gearbox and 80w90 in the rear diff. When I did my first service on the car by other forum members back in the day.

I also use the nulon stuff, not sure how good it is or if its bad. But I have never had a problem, so I will continue to use it.

Castrol multitrax in the box, plus a big tube of Nulon G70.
And Castrol EPX 80/90 for the rear diff

you can also do a flush on the gearbox with ATF
-drain old oil
-refill with ATF
-drive it around gently until it's warm
-shift up and down through all gears multiple times
-dump ATF
-flush through with a litlre of new oil (leave the bung out)
-refill with Multitrax and G70.

the ATF is much thinner and gets itself into the bearings and synchro's and extracts gunk.

I've also seen this procedure done on a hoist using diesel with good results

Thanks guys,

I was looking at redline oil, or would it be overkill for mine?

redline is a waste of money.
And it's bad for synchro's, it gums them up and gets stuck in there and goes hard

Good but cheap oil, change frequently.
metal particles will destroy your box regardless of how expensive your oil is.

Nulon G70 works magic in the 5 speeds. Also using a full synthetic make an absolute world of difference compared to the cheaper stuff.
