I'd buy it if I had the extra $10,000 and didn't have my SpecB wagon...
I do want to sell my wagon when I can afford the later 2009 model SpecB (sedan or wagon). May be even the STi. We'll see what happens when the time comes.

Depends what you want, what you'll use the car for etc...
I had a B4, and for me the GT was never as interesting / special as it, but the Tuned by STi was, so I only wanted one of those. They cost more sure, but given they've been that way for quite some time, the same will likely be true when you come to sell it.
I also wanted something that would remain stock, and I don't drive it that often, so bought an original, low K Tuned by STi and I'll keep it that way. If I was using it as a daily and setting out to mod it, I would have got a GT - no use paying more for the STi then destroying that value by modding it (original ones are worth as always).

What would people go for in the current market?
Looking for a nice daily. My track setup 86 is not ideal as I've been daily driving more often than usual.
Just eyeing the market atm, not looking to buy just yet. Looks to be around $5-10k difference between the two.
Or I could just splurge and buy one of these:
