update: the piece of shit usb port was dodgy so i stuck a tiny screwdriver in there and wiggled it around. Apparently these get misaligned very easily and now, like magic, the computer picks up.

Yeah haha I started flashing on a new kernel to root it (I think I'm using the right terminology) then it forked up and wouldn't boot haha. Should be fine but I had to go out to uni I'll fix it later haha
Hmm doesn't sound too good.. just make sure you haven't bricked it.. lol

Last time I checked, the "almighty" and "flawless" Android operating system was giving him heartache.

To be fair, it's just the Galaxy S2. They seemed to have had a fair amount of issues...
I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

Yeah S2 is quite old now and dying a lot... but I'm still using mine, with the ROM

I've never had issues with any iPhone I've owned (I've had one since the 3). Any issues I did encounter ended up me going to Apple either to get it fixed on the spot or to get it replaced with a brand new one at no extra charge.

I have a little trick for when my internal memory, the 1.97GB for an S2, is full or near to and new apps or updates aren't able to fit.
It clears the cache plus a bunch of other things that build up.
Phone > Keypad > Type: *#9900#
A menu will immediately open. called "Sysdump"
From here, there are 10 options.
I press "Delete dumpstate/logcat" To free up space, anywhere from 200MB-1GB, just depends.
BUT, there could be an option in this menu which helps you, just google what each one does!

They were physical issues, not software/firmware.
