Sup cubts.

I'm in Coffs at the moment.

Got three weeks off work and on our way to Morton Island off the Brisbane coast.

Swapped the Calais for a Mitsubishi Challenger for the trip as it's a 4WD only beach and the XT isn't quite suited!

Challenger is pretty rad. Manual, 3.0, 6 cyl, petrol. Pretty cruisey.

Got about an hour and a half into the trip and got a call from the in laws that their Pajero was overheating (family holiday - they were 50m behind us).

Leaking water hose off the gas converter turned out to be the issue. Tightened the clamp and it seems to be ok. Still gets pretty hot going uphill. LPG isn't working at all though? Idles really rough and clunks out. Petrol tank is only 35L and runs out well fast. Need to find out what's wrong tomorrow otherwise it will be an interesting trip on the sandy beach!

Also, I've decided that my next car has to be a proper 4WD.

Thinking late model GU TD Patrol. The one with the longer tails (05-09 I think).

So flipping rad!

Fark Morgan, that thing is hot.

That RK  WRX sounds so sweet.

The start of the stage was the best bit.

Not until Monday!

Oh yeah, happy birthday for Monday!

I'm in Coffs at the moment.

Got three weeks off work and on our way to Morton Island off the Brisbane coast.

Swapped the Calais for a Mitsubishi Challenger for the trip as it's a 4WD only beach and the XT isn't quite suited!

Idles really rough and clunks out. Petrol tank is only 35L and runs out well fast. Need to find out what's wrong tomorrow otherwise it will be an interesting trip on the sandy beach!

Probably cooked it and blown the head gasket. Or it hasn't been run on petrol regularly so the fuel system is falling over with failed injectors and the like.

Did you bleed the air out of the converter and the rest of the cooling system? Is the converter freezing up?

As I have always said, gas is for barbecues.

Fark Morgan, that thing is hot.

A gut full of cold water won't help either.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Converter froze over, yes.

He thinks the HG was already weeping. How do we bleed the air out of the converter?

There is a strong gas smell when you flick it over so there's probably a leak somewhere.
