Since we have a few f1 fans on here decided we need a discussion thread so we can all share news, opinions etc on this years season

Personally, was ecstatic to see Ricardo get on the podium today, hopefully a sign of things to come for the young Aussie

WOOOOO!

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

decent season opener. so many variables now that i don't think you can really take too much away from today though? if anything i guess Nico showed what you can do with a car that is running as a fairly complete package. shame no one (Ricciardo especially) wasn't able to get a bit closer to him to see how the reduced fueling would really affect them at full beans over race distance and the difference in mapping v performance between the top teams. reduced aero isn't to much of an issue at melbourne but faster cornering tracks like Monza or Spa should be exciting! Also good to see the new boys all making a good go of it, hopefully that continues :)

Malaysia isn't far off and with a lot of the gear heading directly there and not back to europe before the next race it will be interesting to see how the teams who had problems will go at getting themselves up to speed in time. Looking forward to when things get a bit more competitive as the season goes on.

it was also a bit of a shame only 13 of 22 cars finished. Kamui should have stayed away, he was pushing it last time he was in F1 and didn't mess about taking up where he left off. Romain was bad coz he was unpredictable, Kobyashi is worse because he is. muppet.

Huge congrats to Ricciardo, hopefully its the first of many podiums to come. "I'm tripping balls right now.." haha what a legend!

BRING ON THE REST OF THE SEASON!!

Was good, will make more of an effort to watch races this year, or even go see one.

Hi,

Australia is the second toughest on fuel behind Canada, so if Mercedes get reliability it could be a one horse race.

Putting my F1 brain to bed for a while, will make a proper post in the morning.

Great post, Aek.

Cheers,

Nik

haha yep what a shame. running excess fuel pressure is a big no no. i did hear renault had asked for certain concessions for the race that the FIA was considering but yeah, that the FIA are looking into it isn't a good sign for DR.

I felt last year was a bit of a one horse race, consistently vettel was on top and to me the whole thing just got boring.
The new regulations seems to have shaken things up a bit and made it all a bit interesting, like aek said it's going to be more interesting as the year goes on to see how the teams develop with the new technology throughout the year and adapt to it

tbh i don't have a problem with the "one horse race" scenario. F1 is about the best engineers developing the best and fastest cars with the best drivers driving them. they all have the same FAI rules they need to conform to so personally i don't see it as boring to see a team who have all the elements balanced perfectly constantly winning. every season the regulations change and RBR have been able to adapt a remain the dominant team. it's the other teams jobs to catch up and thats the challenging and interesting part to me. someone needs to be the benchmark.

the easy option for an even playing field is a series like A1GP and look how that went. ;)

I like the new changes. The cars this year, will need to be shown respect. Very understeery in, twitchy mid corner & oversteery out. Don't show them respect they are going to bite you. Even braking on most cars seemed weird. (I'm sure they will iron out a lot these of bugs.)

I agree with Aek about the "one horse race". But everyone wants to see a closer race. To win today by 24-25secs is an arse whooping, that was even with a safety car mid race. But if you want close racing & carnage, go watch nascar.

Good on ya DR. epic drive. Hope there isn't 2 much back lash with the fuel pressure thing.

Looking forward to the season. Going to be gawd!!!!

A lot of the cars seem to have reliability issues so let's see how it's going in a few rounds and if anyone is dominating

I agree with simon the cars seem to need to be shown a lot of respect this year. They are very loose

Not looking good for DR unfortunately

I think this will give him some motivation to prove to everyone he can win with a car that is legal.

I feel sorry for him. Seems like such a happy young guy who really enjoys the sport.

Hopefully he gets back on his feet for the next race and blitzes the field ;)

It won't slow him down, as Mark said, it will give him more motivation.
