I'm on the fence as to whether I should go for it or not.

So I've had a lot of time wasters with my car lately. The longer I have it the more a conversion builds in my mind. I know there are legalities to what engine can go in what car but I'm not familiar with them.
I'm having ideas of getting a 07-09 liberty gt spec b engine and 6spd along with brembos, R180 etc as more of a cost affective route, assuming that it would be alot cheaper than a ej207 or ej257 sti transplant

It may vary from state to state but I think 207 will be easiest in regards to the law. Generally you just have to register the change of engine number, instead of getting it engineered, because it's still a 2.0L turbo.

Blitzen > STI > SpecB :P

And I like the gt liberty engine transplant idea, that would be super cool :)

Yep. VSI6 allows maximum of 20% over standard without certification.

ie: no more than 2.4l :(
