Hey guys,

Looking through my collection of workshop manuals, i figured i need a Dex3 oil, but it doesn't specify how much. It just says "however much is removed".

Anyone know the exact amount specifications? Was looking at just grabbing this http://www.superchea...rom=60201#Cross

Assuming your tranny is the same as a b4

They say replace as much as you drain because the torque converter holds a tonne of oil, you will luckily to drain more than 5 litres in most cases.

You could buy two and just take the other one back if needed.

Happens all the time at work

Aww man but that's like $60!

So it's all dependent on how much comes out, and that could be totally random... So however much isn't sitting in the torque converter?

How the hell you supposed to get it all out then? Its like throwing a clean shirt in your dirty laundry to give yourself a clean wardrobe.

The only way to get it all out is remove the tranny and drain the fluid from the converter.

It would have to be pretty manky to require it to be completely drained, you could do a couple changes if you really wanted to

I'm sure on the forums somewhere It says how much comes out when you drain?
It's not totally random but car specific

Yeah I believe the gen 3s are external filter

Go to repco for the filter, I can tell you now supercheap won't have it.
