vf35 or vf37

Hi Donald,
Can I ask what you ballpark budget would be? and where crank/wheels you want that reading from? I mean the easy way would be whack a dirty big turbo on it say a td06 with a ebc greddy or power fc pump boost to 22-24 psi smash some new injectors in 800cc scale them, upgrade fuel pump to hold 43 psi on the reg and I think you'll either get there or blow the bottom end or snap a valve in your heads. But to do it right I guess we'd/you'd need to investigate that block heads and airflow of your car first.
Cheers,
Will
sorry it might sound harsh but 350hp at the wheels is quite alot for a 2lt.

Sorry should of said I'm aiming for 350hp at the fly surely the wrx internals are not that bad i would be having it mapped to ensure its running right. What do you guys reckon mine is at just now roughly it's got a good panel filter. Stainless from turbo back with sports cat and boost is at about 17 - 18 psi on the td04

350hp/240kw at the fly. The easy and cheap way on your engine. Get 2.5" exhaust headers VF35 or VF36 Sti pinktops cobb or grimmspeed wastegate control solenoid valve tiny bit bigger fuel pump although I rekon your standard fuel pump will be enough. Tune to 14-16 psi and your done.
The standard td04 cannot hold that 18 psi to 7k rpm.

Which of the two is better ? Both a simple fit I guess ? Do you know what turbo is on the jdm blob eye sti's ? I have a grimmspeed 3 port electronic boost solenoid is that the same as the waste gate solenoid ?

Vf34 will bilt right on no mods brand new just for the turbo to go in 1200-1300. VF36 is far better but the VF36 Requires substantial mods EL headers cresent moon sump new dump. New pricing would be VF36 3000 new headers 600 sump 150 dump 150. about 3900 or 4k depending on turbo.

Does the vf35 require mods to function on my block like the vf36 ? And is the vf35 a better choice than the vf34. Thanks for all the fast answers will

Vf35 will bolt straight on. I personally would rather the 34 over the 35 but you would probably find a s/hand 35 cheaper then the 34
WillC 28 Jun 2014
yes it requires mods 《--- correction its a single scroll. VF35 will give you way better midrange response but is restricted up top. Internally the VF34 is better than the VF35. Overall If all you want is 350hp at the crank the VF34 will probably get you there. The VF35 probably won't

Would the td05 18 not be quite laggy ? Your right it would be considerably cheaper than a vf. Anyone got any opinions on running a td05 18 or 20g. What sort of injectors would I need aswell ? Thanks

What year model WRX do you have? STi injectors are fine for 220-240kw (fuel pump is needed also)
alexGT 29 Jun 2014
2002 wrx
No AVCS unfortunately, so it will be a little laggier. A 16G could do it with more boost, all depends how far you want to push it

There are quite a few different types of TD05 models available.
Blouch have a decent TD05 with a billet ball bearing compressor. That'll be better than any thrust bearing version of a TD05.
