I have never had to make a claim except one time at the end of last year with NRMA. I was not at fault and it was dealt with swiftly.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help mate.

Just clarifying, this is a CTP thread. Is your rego/CTP due today or your comprehensive insurance?

I have never had first hand experience with Just Car so I won't comment.

No worries guys. Yes this was for full comprehensive car insurance and not CTP. I have been a long term (3+ years) customer with the NRMA and still have other car insurance policies with them, however as all you guys mentioned to me a $2844 premium is too high for my vehicle.

Did a lot of quotes from competitors and found that going rate with my history and agreed value was ranging from $1200 to $1600 with few policy differences.

Took these with me to NRMA to see if they could at least come close, but the cheapest they could do was $2400 ish which is still way too high compared to the competitors...

So after reading through the Justcar policy booklet, went with them as their policies are close to the NRMA's but not exactly the same.

Hopefully I'll never have to find out how the claims process feels like with them, but you never know...

Sounds good. Can't really go wrong when you're saving $1000 a year!

Claims are all pretty similar these day.

You have an accident.

Organise the repair.

Drop it off.

Wait.

Pick it up.

Takes about 2 weeks (depending on damage) and you're back on the road.

Only disadvantage to JustCar from NRMA is that I just can't say I want this repairer to do it and that that is what I want - NRMA couldn't refuse.

And also I knew all the ins and outs of the whole NRMA policy and processes :P

Saving $1200 a year...

If you're unhappy with any repairs, you just take it back to the repairer and het them to fix it under your claim number. If it's still not right or if they refuse to, contact JC and they'll help. I had to go back thrice for one of my AAMI repairs. Simply because they prefer to use second hand parts. Freshly painted front bar decided to crack 5 months after the repair!

ACT rego all up is $920 for my Liberty... Then insurance is $1300 a year for the engine conversion with Just Car. Have not had to make a claim through them yet, but just went through it with the Wife's GTI through AAMI. Some guy ran up her ass at a traffic light and don't get it back for 3 weeks.... But the place that AAMI picked my boss happened to know someone that works there so its getting looked after. But you get a lifetime warranty on the repairs as they say, so if you don't like it then it goes back the first time to the shop that did the work and if its not resolved or they don't wanna do it you can take it elsewhere.

Just note with JustCars insurance,

It's legit in the policy booklet. There's also one referring to the outbreak of war and another about angry mobs.

Angry mobs = Cronulla riots. Or something to do with a Palestinian/Israeli march in the city.

Just for that, i'm now cancelling my contract with them.

well ive been with NRMA for 5-6 years and got a 12.5 % discount, NRMA wanted 666 for my greenslip so i shopped around and found GIO $50 cheaper so i went with them.

My insurance is due in aug as well NRMA wants $1426 and my excess is 2000 and im 30 now and the value of my car is 19450, so i said screw that so i found GIO is having a 20% of sale for online insurance purchase + further 50 off if you have greenslip with them, so the premium came out to be 1172, with 1050 excess and 20000 value of the car which is a relief because of a 2000 excess and i also saved $250 and got another 650 on the value of the car which rounds it off nicely.

loyalty is bullshit especially from NRMA 6 years and they couldn't do better than Gio which i just signed up with, and they also do unlimited mods cover as long as its a legal, what they dont cover is Nos,roll cages, turbo or supercharger upgrades and one or two more things i cant remember.

I think the way NRMA calculates it's premiums have anomalies. When I went and asked for a better deal, for my car and my location if was crazy high and they could do nothing about it....
