Hi all. I have been running the GT-B for a while without a BOV and its been great getting flutter but the other day I got a GFB BOV for $50 so I put it on this arvo. Its a twin trumpet hybrid type. It doesn't have the plugs so I am running it full atmo. After one test drive this arvo I can say it doesn't leak or affect the changeover which is good. But my god its mega loud. My mate Dave says he has never heard one so loud. Its pretty good coz it flutters below 5psi but man over 10psi and it scares children. I went past a school so I tried it out (sorry kiddies). Cheers Rob

Hey rob, sounds good, no pun intended, however running with no BOV is a bad idea for the bearings on your turbo, glad to hear you have replaced your BOV, the standard ones are dodgy as ! Remember also that it is illegal unless internally vented, I'm not trying to spoil your fun, just making sure you know as some people don't know that. Regards Paul

Yeah I know the legalities but most of my driving is in the country so you can do pretty much anything in my experience. I have a bike that is about 5db above legal and I never have any probs around here. (Yet ) Being auto too means it doesn't blow that much either.

Yes I baited that one and waited for a response. Its fully HektiK Bro. Funny as. I think my bonnet lifted a little from the BOV bro. Yeah catch up would be good. Uni and work has taken my life away recently. Oh yeah Mark I am going to use my Kevin $900 for a sway bar.

Rob - Atmo venting BOV's always provide some entertainment for the driver and / or passengers. In my own experience you grow very tiresome of loud BOV's quite quickly. I still have the bog standard WRX plumb-back BOV on mine (the sh!tty plastic one) which are prone to failure. The ONLY 2 BOV's I would upgrade to are a GFB plumb back unit, OR a HKS SSQV or whatever they are (I LOVE that high pitch BOV!). I think the HKS one is the only one I would not get sick of, but only time would tell..

Good to hear you're messing around with things, feel free to post up a DIY on BOV changing too and get yourself in the running to win a $100 supercheap auto gift voucher!

If I do get sick of the sound I am going to get the plumb back parts from GFB. But right now its a laugh. Its super loud even at 100kph. Even over the road and wind noise with the windows down.

I have the GFB GT Hybrid and when I set it to 100% atmo it is very loud, even changing at 3000RPM. I changed it back to 100%plumback as I got sick of it and noticed with the CAI I get a decent amount of flutter. I'm now at 50/50 and get a cho cho cho ptchhhh at low rpm and a descrete ptchhhhh about 3500rpm.

Not loud enough! I run a 19mm chair foot rubber in place of the BOV. Flutter goes woop woop just like Zoidberg.
