... to friends anyway.
It's not good business ethics to give them out normally. Means you can look them up online and shit and try and get it cheaper. Idea is to encourage you to buy the part from us.

I'll have a looksie at work tomorrow, if you want?
I like to think of it as borrowing someone's car and driving it better than them.

Use Opposed as a loose guide as its wrong on a lot of stuff as its not vin specific.
Dropping the VIN and 'building' the car is the only way to get some part numbers to come up anyways.
Part numbers end up the same as opposed forces - if you know what your doing.

Yup, has worked for me in the past too.
Nothing I hate more than going to my local Subaru dealership, asking for some bumper clips and trim clips and being asked for a VIN number.
(Not aimed at you Sam!)

The whole thing is your VIN enables us to be specific to a T. Just due to facelift changes and supersessions and all that shit, sometimes building a car can get you the completely wrong. It's more of a way to save our own arse, that way if the part is wrong, we can forward to blame to Subaru or so on.

The issue you run into after a conversion is that the car configuration is totally different to what the VIN says, and the parts catalogue doesn't recognise the JDM VINs - That's when online catalogues like opposed forces and Subaru FAST come in handy.

I've got part numbers from Subaru Australia for the majority, if not, the entire range of STi products for a Gen IV if anyone is interested.
Wanting to buy/looking for: single genuine STi rim, genuine STi front lip, Corazon or Zero/Sports grille and another OEM grille
Can you hook a brother up? Please contact me now. I have cash ready.

A few years ago you couldn't buy STi parts from Subaru without a STi VIN, so unless that's changed people can't buy STi for a non-STi from Subaru, part number or not

Wouldn't advertise that Gaz, depending on what Subaru's policy is at the moment, could get that dealership in trouble.
I'm only going off what the dealerships were doing a few years ago when WRX owners tried to order STi parts.

Fair enough. Either way, I've got the part numbers in case people wanted to know them.

Yeah, I know it might have been just the policy of the dealership at the time, but Google shows most Aus dealerships are assholes if you are trying to get parts without a VIN, and I can imagine them not giving you a part for an STi Lib if your VIN matches a Spec-B, because technically, it would be the wrong part for that VIN.

Carsales. STI car. Normally they have Vin on the ads ( for the bull.... data gathering of your cars history that they sell at a later date)
Problem solved
Yeah I saw that.
Not too comfy with having my VIN broadcast to the Internet. Also saw guys on forums trading STi VINs from cars they walked past.

I'm a bit funny sharing my VIN number as well. Whenever I have sold my cars, I've only given the VIN to potential buyers. Not that they were Subaru's, but I assume the same thing stands? Anyway, enough about discussing the issue as it's slightly on a different topic.
