I converted Chris's outback to a blackout cluster today. Few little gremlins. I believe the security system of the cluster/car is causing issues. His key now no longer can lock the doors nor the key fob. Only way to lock the door is to manual flick the switch and shut the door. The tailgate cant be locked at all now. The car starts and runs perfectly fine. The cluster we swapped in is an AUDM H6 outback one so it should have its own security system correct? Is it simply a matter of connecting the car to it or will something need to be reprogrammed? Seeing as a JDM cluster has no security stuff would that solve the problem?

Any help would be sweet as hes now got my sexy gen 2 and im stuck with his land boat gen 3 that cant be locked lol :\

2000. Not sure on the revision Possibly B (going off the year). By security light do you mean the key light on the cluster? If so, no as we have replaced the cluster with a H6 blacked out one.

I think snowball and his SSM will be needed

Bit of an update. Ive noticed the immobilizer light/system needs a constant power to the cluster, which I have most likely neglected. Will test it in the morning

A fresh head certainly helps. I found a blown fuse for the constant power. So i hooked that up to the C plug which I had neglected. Hey presto key icon and working locks. A few seconds later the keyless was working. But the cluster wont turn off with it plugged in  :dash2:  So i unplugged the C plug again and everything still works lol. Its not 100% finished but its usable now and I can have my nice simple gen 2 back

am i missing something but cant you then just find a ignition switched 12v for the cluster and use that and then use the constant 12v for the security module?

p.s. i told you that the flashing key needed to be flashing lol
