Thought I would show some pictures I took today of my 93' Liberty RS.
I've had it for a week now, so all the credit has to go to the previous owner for all the hard work gone into it. I don't have any skills on the spanners ( I prefer the driving part) and this RS has been done the way I would have done it if I knew how. All the work has been done over the last 3 or so years. (updates in bold)

Anyway, some of the specs:

- New paint with colour coded body kit. Now back to black
- New tint, 20%
- 17" WRX alloys. 16" WRX alloys for track
- New Yokohama C-Drive tyres

- WRX 4 pot front brakes / standard rear
- New cross drilled / slotted front & rear rotors
- EBC green pads

- STi Wheel nuts

- New shocks (have to check what brand) & king springs. Now BC BR coilovers with adjustable camber tops front & rear, also rear extenders to control damping.
- Whiteline front and rear 20mm sway bars

- GC8 STi alloy control arms & new endlinks to suit

- Whiteline anti lift kit

- Whiteline Ball joints & tie rod ends

- Whiteline rear strut brace

- GC8 STi front carbon fibre strut brace

- 3 inch stainless exhaust from the turbo to the rear diff, then 2 1/2 inch steel section to rear stainless X-force muffler with twin tips

- Engine wise it is basically stock, but has a VOS Chip running 16psi.

- Apexi 45 degree intake with Gen 2 airbox
- New Exedy h/d clutch

- Hardrace engine, gearbox and pitch stop mounts

- WRX front and rear seats (was a factory leather, sunroof and ABS brakes model)
- Momo steering wheel & gear knob (will change these to something nicer)
- some kind of boost gauge

Future plans are minimal at this stage. I plan on doing the occasional lap dash/hill climb, and cruising.
I would like to get all the factory stickers back on it, so if some one can point me in the right direction that would great.
Ian.

Clean car! Very tasty.

Hope you can find some OEM stickers for it. Those current ones make me feel funny :P

Thanks for the replies. I love reading all the rally history with this model with Colin McRae, Possum Bourne, etc. It gives it that bit of heritage, if you know what I mean
I have also found someone who is in the process of re-producing all the factory stickers for this model, as they are no longer available and hard to find. So it will hopefully have the factory stickers on it soon.

This, I'm happy to hear.

It would be nice if a few of these remained stock, or near stock as so many have been modded and forked.

I have managed to trade a car at work with a "GReddy Intelligent Informeter Touch" installed to it.

Is this compatible with the RS Liberty's?

Had a play with it fitted in the donor vehicle, great little toy.

assuming stock ECU (and going by your initial post, sound like it is, but maybe with VOS chip) then I don't believe it will. IIRC these were OBD1. Take a look on RSLC for ECU DataScan

Does Paul (from here) still have his stock one ?

Looks like it might have the "clear side indicator "mod"" and maybe Jason M pipe (resonator delete) or similar too

Correct, the RS's are OBD1 unfortunately.

You have the original plastic header tank too, keep an eye on it as they tend to break. Most people just replace them with an alloy WRX item when the time comes, they pop up on here fairly cheap sometimes. Or places like Ichiban usually have them.

Would I be right in saying most of the WRX GC8 suspension parts would bolt straight onto my Liberty? Things like strut braces, coil overs, etc

Most certainly yes.

What a gorgeous example, with the rare front lip.

Enjoy her in good health!

The only thing that won't fit without a bit of a hammer massage is a rear swaybar. The rs ones have a small kink in the center to help clear the spare wheel well. But a gc8 will fit if you don't mind bashing the well in a bit. And depending on the build date of the RS it may have drop links not the usual c links for the rear swaybar.

I think you'll need more than a massage to fit the rear GC8 bar.... unless you're massaging with an angle grinder...

Too nice of a car to ruin because of skimping on a sway bar.
