Yesterday I installed my RalliTEK transmission mount bush for the 4EAT.
I was aware that there would be an increase in NVH.
I re-used my current header gaskets as I had to remove my headers and cats to access the required nuts/bolts.
Upon start-up I noticed there was more noise, especially boxer rumble, and a slight burning smell and hissing in the engine bay, something that I have attributed to as failed gaskets, even though they were torqued down correctly. I have already sourced some replacement gaskets.
The NVH imo is borderline unbearable.
Have any of you experienced something similar with installation of a Group N tranny mount?
I have Group N pitch stop mount already in my car and I have engine mounts to put in too.
Do you think the bush has affected the tailshaft in relation to the transmission box?
The driveline doesn't feel stiffer, but this may be because of the header gasket leak.
Cheers.

Gen3 rev D-E custom mesh grille

Who on here was it that had a custom mesh grille?
It was a silver Gen3 BE5 I'm pretty sure.
Just want to know how and where they used zip ties to secure the mesh, after the honeycomb mesh had been cut out.
Cheers.

Tire options
06 September 2014 - 01:41 PM
Ok so I was reading in the current Beaurepaires catalog and they have Goodyear Eagle F1's (directional) for $169 in a 225/45/R17 profile.
I have these WRX rims (8th down) and want to put 225/45/R17's on them. I have done my research and they shouldn't scrub and if they do, Josh (sbv) has a guard roller.
Oem tires on these are 215's AFAIK.
I called up Bob Jane and they have a $100 cash back deal on Bridgestone RE002's with each tire costing $165 (after cashback).
My only other option for tires are KU31's based on their reputation on this forum among users.
I kind of already know what I want to go for (RE002's ) but thought I'd post up this in case anybody has any other suggestions.
Car is NA and will be used as a daily but nontheless I want good rubber on the road.
If all goes well, I can get them fitted this Thursday!
It goes against my initital plan to fix up the panel damage on my car and leave the wheels/tires to the very end but they tempt me every day!
Thanks!
Note: I'm running RSR springs on Bilsteins, so will scrubbing potentially be an issue?
