If you don't have another earth on the gearbox, then yep that'd be for the gearbox. Can't tell you where though sorry, mine snapped off after I tried to remove the gearbox with it still connected...

I would have gone to the kitchen, collected a brown bag, dropped my dacks, pinched off a loaf in said bag, done up dacks, stickytaped bag, placed bag in envelope, and mailed it right to your face for being such a tool.

It's ok, sometimes when we herp, we also derp.

Main earth cable by the looks of it.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

Thanks Luke and jase.
Could it go onto the slave cylinder bolts? Just can't see anywhere else it bolts up to...

There's A little bracket that might be missing, it bolts onto the top starter hole, and that cable would bolt onto that.

That's what mine does!

So long as it makes good electrical contact with the engine block. Slave should be fine.

What Adam said sounds about right.

Yeah, not overly fussed though, explains why the clutch wasn't bleeding properly. Now to sell the sti and get sti engine into the lib..

Yeah I'm feeling the same way, kind of relieved that it was the problem with the clutch not bleeding and not something that would require the gearbox to come out again.

Once I sell the STI I will get a reliable engine into the Lib and enjoy hassle free motoring haha...yeah right.

Jesse, Just so you know, thats actually not the standard Earth cable, i noticed when working on your car when we swapped the clutch..

But yes it goes to that bracket as you found.. normally it runs from the Battery Terminal direct to the Starter bolt as per Adam's image but i think because yours was re-located to the boot it has been earthed like that.

Earth it on the starter motor bolt, and bring on the skids already.

That explains why I couldnt find it on the sti when I checked then. Makes sense. Cheers Ty.

Working on it Alex, just need someone to take the sti off my hands, then off to am auto...

Nice to see them coming back to life. Hopefully the STi finds the right home. Lib has seen some better days, but I personally like the colour and the shape, will be great with a fresher motor.
