R180 will loose him the 5x100, unless finds one out of an RA, but then its not the diff its the shafts that will break.
im currently RWD running a version 4 STI with PPG spool, and LSD R160 and its holding alright, altho i will need to do diff mounts soon
you could weld the R160 but sooner or later you will shat drive-shafts
Interesting theory. Someone tell Matt then his R180 rear end is 5x114, and not 5x100, therefore he can't run 20psi.
R180 on a Gen3 is quite possible. Some machining is required on the Gen3 hubs to accept the R180 bearings, and therefore the shafts. Diff, although larger in size, will bolt into the same spot, and accept the same tail shaft length if you stay five speed.
Gen3 R180 rear end conversions - I've seen it a couple of times.
Nice work. I like how yor thread mainly talks about what you've DONE, not what you want to wish you could maybe do.
Can I get an AMEN?
The matte bronze works really well with the silver in my opinion and i got these out of the states for this particular colour as i couldnt get them over here in oz. Plus they were cheaper from america with shipping than anywhere over here. But hey, who knows, i'm sure i'll get bored of these soon enough and will probably paint them in an onyx black or something along those lines..
I have to agree. The colour is good. Onyx black would also look tits once you get bored with it.
