this afternoon, about 4.00pm, on the way to my gf's house after work. i had my first car accident! what is it at the moment with libs! there were 2 that i saw last week! i kept thinking, man i hope that never happens! it did not too bad tho. ill post some pics up later - the other guys car came off worse i think but it was my fault. sort of. my vision was completely blocked by some other guy letting me out of a street so i went. and the guy i smashed into was in the lane that was blocked. hard to explain and im still a little shaky, only happened 45 mins ago. the front left of my car has seen better days though! no air bags went off. damage: front bar front left foggy quarter panel blinker cover smashed (excuse to get projectors??)

Thats extremely unfortunate to hear Morgan :( But hey, it really isn't that bad if everything is replaceable. What it will be for you is a severe pain in the arse and probably a bit of a dent in the wallet some way or another. But its a lot better than losing your pride and joy altogether. So g'luck with picking up the pieces, so to speak. If you need any help sourcing parts or anything like that, be sure to ask as I'm sure someone around here will be able to help you out. ~ shiv

Ouch mate, sorry to hear that. If you need some parts shoot me a PM I've got a lot of spares at the moment, or if not I can recommend a good place up in Brissy for parts.

Same to hear Morgan, sounds like cosmetic damage, I hope it is. Good luck with it.

thanks guys! i dont think it is too serious. just really really sucks! like u say shiv it is mostly a pain in the butt and will leave a sizeable dent in my back pocket..

it really hurts to see my baby all damaged. a few ppl have seen it tonight and say that it isnt that bad! which i guess it isnt! but when you love and take pride in your car and something like this happens, it doesnt matter how big the damage is, it still hurts!!!

Looks like your bonnet escaped injury = lucky!! Unlucky Mazda owner though - looks like you punched a reasonable hole in that. On a slightly different topic - what brand tyres are those? Never seen/heard of "Kruizer" before....

yea bonnett is unscathed! pity tho, that is not in the best condition - has marks all over it! would be the part on the car that i actually do want to replace/refresh!

they are silverstone tyres. they were on there when i got the car at 130k (july 2008) and its now at 150k and not much rubber has burnt!! id say they were near new when i got the car and they still seem to be reasonably good!

has mick fitted his? those projectors on ebay have been sold! damn!! i dont think any of my lights (headlights and foggies) are damaged - just all wonky. drove home from katies house last night and could only see about 2m in front of me it was all pointing downwards! haha update: rang AAMI this morning. made the claim. paid the excess ($1750!!!!!!). car will be assessed 8am monday morning. i know a guy will all the goss on spash repairers in the area (& sydney) who i talked to last night and he is going hook a brudda up with a decent place. last thing i need is someone who is going to charge me a fortune to do a bodge job! hopefully this will be a quick [and relatively] painless excersise.

Fog light isnt cracked. the bracket that holds it in is just really badly bend pointing down! wont budge when i try and turn it back up! lucky! those things are freaking expensive!

got the car back today:) so happy! haha looks schmick and shiny. They replaced the LH foglight (didnt think it was damaged but ah well) with a JDM one! so i have a socket to put a globe in ... but the RH one is still aus spec:( the rear pillars that join the roof to the rear quarter panel have some weird paint thing going on too. its happening on both sides in the exact same spot and it wasnt there when i gave the car away to be fixed?:S weird. its like some sort of toxic substance has been wiped over it and not washed off. kinda like the effect bird crap leaves!! but nevertheless, i am happy to be driving the suby again:)
