If only this wasn't wrapped..

I wouldn't.

Keep looking.

Why Jason?

Not arguing, but keen to hear you expand, as this would be something I'd consider buying if I was shopping for 07 GTs but I know you could spot a lemon pretty well.

Low kms.

2 owners.

Highway/motorway kms.

What tripped your sensors? Just the wrap?

Just the wrap, the rest sounds good.

To me it would be like unwrapping a ticking package; might be a new Tag Heuer or it might be a bomb.

I have seen the effects of moisture on paint when magnetic stick-on signs have been left on for extended periods. Granted wrap is adhesive but I would still have a concern in the back of my mind. If you were after a wrapped Gen IV this is the car, if not why not wait until the right one comes along, one that you can see the car for what it really is?

In addition, I don't get why the owner didn't remove it for sale. Surely they would realise that a car in its original form would attract more potential buyers?

Yeah, I'm not too swayed by that idea that the wrap just peels off easy as, with no damage. I think their might be some slight problems post-unwrap. Sort of like peeling off wallpaper and thinking you'll find perfect walls.

Good to know there was no other red flags with it.

I think he didn't unwrap it for sale as he had just had it done. Still yet another example of modified cars being harder to sell.

I'm pretty sure that guy is on club.liberty as well... If not, then he's definitely on the Facebook group. I remember seeing that car on there a little while ago.

Yeah true, Jase.

While dents and creases would show through the wrap, scratches would be invisible.

A good quality paint correction may be all it needs to get looking schmick again if there are a few blemishes. (<$500)

After wrapping the rs I can say that if a scratch is any more than something that can be buffed out...it will most certainly be seen through the wrap.....I find the matte actually highlights imperfections more than anything

And If its newish...ie not 25 year old paint and is taken off with a heat gun like the pros would do then youd be hard pressed to damage the paint...and the fact that it hasnt been on long only makes it easier to remove

This is only on the basis that a good quality wrap (3m 1080 etc) was used

But moving on...he doesnt want it.. so the search continues :)

Yep, worth a look.

Price seems a little steep. I'd be thinking sub $20k.

Yep, I always compare age with kms, so 7yrs with almost 140,000 means an average of 20,000/year, which is fairly high depending on what the owner uses it for. That's a daily commute of 77km to work and back, 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year. So room to move on the price. But 8 months rego is a good deal, especially in Nazi Germany NSW. At least timing belt is done.

auto generate description on carsales. it's a feature when you list your car to help write the description, knows what car you are listing is for so generates one based on the features.

Make sure the new plates are on it because they had personalised ones rather than a rebirth ;)

Worth a look I reckon. That colour is a winner too.

if you do get a GT specB I have the TB STi tune. It gets rid of the flat spot at 4k rpm and gives you roughly a 10kw/10nm jump. I had it running on mine before I got complete retune and it was great.
