I wanted to reboot my intro thread and turn it into a build thread for my RSK. I'm chipping away at things I'd like to do. Jump to the last post for progress updates. Thanks for reading.
Mark
Hey guys.
My name is Mark. Just a quick hi to introduce myself. I was on ozliberty when it was still around. This is my latest Suby after buying a GEN3 RX LE from the showroom way back when. That (awesome) wagon was totalled in a crash after we'd had it a few years. Careless truck driver made an illegal U-turn and clipped the wagon while my wife was driving home with our little kids in the car. Rolled it three times and huge thumbs up for Subaru on account of ANCAP ratings and no permanent injuries.
Previous car to that Suby was an SR20 180SX. Fun, but moody and I didn't have $$ to look after it like i should have. Following the GEN3 wagon I imported an R32 GTR under the 15yr scheme. Awesome car. Fast, comfortable, reasonably easy to work on. Spent a lot on paint, panel and parts to restore to showroom condition. But just cost too much to keep on the road (18L/100km if your right foot was heavy) and electrics started to fail and they always took a long time to sort out. Sold that after a few years and bought a GEN2 RX Bilstein. Great daily. EJ25 for the reliable win. Leather seats, 5spd, 4wd, good suspension. Happy days. We had that for six years and a few months ago bought a JDM RSK. I love it. 6% tint on the rear windows and for me JDM interior > AUDM interior Such a great balance of performance and comfortable motoring.
Anyways, enough from me, here's a few pics. No big plans. It's a daily. I just overhauled the calipers, changed rotors/pads, flushed just about everything and replaced a few trims that looked untidy.
Put a few things on:
HKS timer
HKS Silent HiPower
STI springs
STI front strut brace
Clear side indicators
Chrome front indicator bulbs
One of the guys here is helping me out with a Mines ECU (thanks Chris). Might get front/rear sway bars. That'll probably do it for a while.
I'm looking forward to a Newcastle/Central Coast cruise.
Cheers,
Mark
