I wanted to reboot my intro thread and turn it into a build thread for my RSK. I'm chipping away at things I'd like to do. Jump to the last post for progress updates. Thanks for reading.

Mark

Hey guys.

My name is Mark. Just a quick hi to introduce myself. I was on ozliberty when it was still around. This is my latest Suby after buying a GEN3 RX LE from the showroom way back when. That (awesome) wagon was totalled in a crash after we'd had it a few years. Careless truck driver made an illegal U-turn and clipped the wagon while my wife was driving home with our little kids in the car. Rolled it three times and huge thumbs up for Subaru on account of ANCAP ratings and no permanent injuries.

Previous car to that Suby was an SR20 180SX. Fun, but moody and I didn't have $$ to look after it like i should have. Following the GEN3 wagon I imported an R32 GTR under the 15yr scheme. Awesome car. Fast, comfortable, reasonably easy to work on. Spent a lot on paint, panel and parts to restore to showroom condition. But just cost too much to keep on the road (18L/100km if your right foot was heavy) and electrics started to fail and they always took a long time to sort out. Sold that after a few years and bought a GEN2 RX Bilstein. Great daily. EJ25 for the reliable win. Leather seats, 5spd, 4wd, good suspension. Happy days. We had that for six years and a few months ago bought a JDM RSK. I love it. 6% tint on the rear windows and for me JDM interior > AUDM interior Such a great balance of performance and comfortable motoring.

Anyways, enough from me, here's a few pics. No big plans. It's a daily. I just overhauled the calipers, changed rotors/pads, flushed just about everything and replaced a few trims that looked untidy.

Put a few things on:

HKS timer

HKS Silent HiPower

STI springs

STI front strut brace

Clear side indicators

Chrome front indicator bulbs

One of the guys here is helping me out with a Mines ECU (thanks Chris). Might get front/rear sway bars. That'll probably do it for a while.

I'm looking forward to a Newcastle/Central Coast cruise.

Cheers,

Mark

Guys thanks v much for the warm welcome! :-)

aekOne have you always been in Northern Beaches? Were you up in the Blue Mountains a few years back? I think I bought some parts from a car you were wrecking. It might be Xon I'm thinking of.

Nah mate, i haven't always lived on the beaches but i've also never lived in the Blue Mountains. If you bought stuff up there it could have been Luke (Xon) or Dylan who has a white gen 2 that looks very similar to mine.

Hey guys. I felt like joining the build club and starting a thread, so I've rebooted my intro thread and will call it a build/project from here.

Since last update I've ripped off the ghetto lip and put an STI lip on it, replaced all the vac lines, made the Line 10 mod (more powah)(12psi primary, 16psi secondary), made the Line 1 mod (goodbye VOD)(it's only 200-300rpm now), swapped interior lights for LEDs, fitted a temporary boost gauge (thanks Cam), and fitted STI metal door scuff plates.

Everyone loves pics:

Ghetto lip

03-06 WRX Lip (Not recommended for BE/BH. Took a punt. Required major surgery to make it fit. Happy with result but next time I'd find another donor lip).

HVC

Myles_91 in front. Impreza that wishes my car had cruise control behind. The funniest thing is walking around recognising cars (Mark's E-tune, Sam's silver B4, Myles's RX wagon, 99-SAM, etc.) but having no idea who the driver was. I think I'll try and be more social next year!

Attached File  2015-05-30 09.32.51 (1024x576).jpg   455.42KB   34 downloads

HVC was such a great day. Driving was spirited, but not stupid. People were awesome, weather was perfect. Next year we'll need to reserve a Gen3 corner of a paddock...

Attached File  2015-05-30 09.49.33 (1024x576).jpg   433.23KB   31 downloads

Current project is teaching myself how to paint. I'm using the ausmini guide (here: http://www.ausmini.c...hp?f=25&t=63720). I bought a genuine, unpainted STI bootlip spoiler from YJP recently and want to learn how to paint (front and rear bumpers could use a refresh eventually). I've painted with a gun a fair bit before, but never aimed for an "automotive" finish.

Etch primer only just went on, so the rear surface looks all orange peel. It dried perfectly. Since put another coat of etch primer and then 5 coats of primer filler like the guide said.

Attached File  2015-06-02 13.53.16 (1024x576).jpg   311.15KB   30 downloads

End state is to replace eBay-spec boot lip spoiler (which, tbh I don't mind too much, but it's not OEM so has to go)

Line 1 mod?? EXPLAIN YOURSELF THIS INSTANT!!!!!

Also, looks great Mark.

I've had the EZlip on mine and was thinking about doing the same as you with the STi lip, but still not sure yet.

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

I should just convert to single, right?

Car looked great at HVC mate. Those little lip spoilers do look good. Was nice to see a clean example of an RSK
