Yep, it was Jake. Good guy, great Foz.
Thanks Jimbo. Can't wait for some time off work to get some jobs off the list. I need to catch up with your wagon

New maximum power gain increasing! Genki!! I'll finally have all that rear downforce I've been missing on my daily commute. Two spoilers at the front, and two spoilers at the rear. And an extra STI badge for no good reason.

So after a lot of messing around doing paint touch ups on the lip spoiler, I bit the bullet and pulled out my hobby airbrush I used to use when making scale cars and planes. It was perfect. Flawless finish and saved pulling out the HVLP monster for a 20mm x 5mm section.

Here's what else I was working on this weekend. Thanks to Mr Haynes for the brains and a good mate for the brawn. Finally separated the motor from the frame.

899cc NA motor making 105kW at 11,000rpm. Woohoo. The donk from the wrecker bike is jetted and tuned for the aky pipes. It has been sitting for a few years so once I've overhauled it I'll put it in Big Red

Very nice!
The dual spoiler/lip looks very clean.
And the Zx9r is sooooo nice
I should just convert to single, right?As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

Different. My preference is the lip spoiler alone.

haha! I know what my wife means when she says something is "different" :-) I kinda get where you're coming from. The lip dovetails perfectly with the main spoiler so I'm not sure what Mr Subaru intended. Do you have the lip spoiler in your Legacy brochures? I'm not sure I cbf putting filling holes/repainting a boot lid on my to-do list right now.
Then again...

Phew. Almost got bumped to page 2 #projectshame The job was on to fit vicelore's old brakes, courtesy of pattyfox. Originally they were black with red decal. I always wanted red with white decal.

I also wanted to swap the BMC and booster for GDB parts. After much getting smart via the internet, turns out I wasn't so smart at all. Everything I read said Legacy's used 15/16" masters. Figured mine did too. So I pulled mine off and found this:

Same same. Both were 1 1/16" cylinders. Subyclub FB group came back with a collective "well, duh". Turns out all ABS Subarus use the 1 1/16" BMC. Live and learn. I stick with the job and removed the BE5 brake booster. Swapped for the bits I bought. #justbecause The booster was fiddly to get out, and had to remove my master cylinder stopper, move loom and heat shield. Simple enough but makes the job drag out. Went in a lot easier than expected. On Cam's advice I didn't bleed the BMC. No impact. When bleeding the completely dry 4pots I couldn't get anything out. Cam (champion that he is, replying to car questions just prior to Australia Day beers) said to gravity bleed first. Did that. Worked a treat.

Finally, just want to publicly thank Cam for being such a legend and picking up parts for me and for getting me out of a jam when the brakes wouldn't bleed.

Thanks gents. If anyone reading is thinking of painting theirs, make sure you bake the paint. I baked the base coat, but ran out of time on Australia Day to bake the clear (I used clear to seal the decals). It's not too bad, but was tacky for a few days after and tended to attract road gunk. Highly recommend the clear and highly recommend baking it again afterwards.
Plus, one the base coat bake one of the calipers wasn't dry/empty and wept brake fluid onto one of Mrs Cowie's favourite baking trays #sadpanda

How come bake twice? Will I be worse off for only baking after clear... 'cause I've already applied two coats of clear :-/

You probably don't need to bake between base and clear. I was just pressed for time and didn't want to risk the vinyl decals going to poo and having to start over.
What paint did you use?
VHT Real Red, as Dr CRUISN ordered
If you're about to say you don't need to clear, then ack. I wanted to seal the decals and I prefer the gloss finish.

I'm still on the fence. Might give it a week or two before I commit to a high mount brake light and getting holes welded.
