Just a quickie as I have heard of this issue before.
Been getting the CEL coming on for a while, at least once a week and usually just after a cold start. Turns off shortly after start up and, as you'd expect, logs a knock sensor code. (I cant remember which code exactly )
Scan tool shows knock sensor working and able to detect knock.
As these types of sensors are affected by the torque of the mounting bolt, I thought I'd try something simple first.
I removed the mounting bolt and cleaned the threads on the wire buff (thread was showing signs of corrosion), applied some copper anti-seize grease to the bolt and re-installed it.
It has been over three months now and no codes.
Maybe worth a try before rushing out and purchasing a new knock sensor.
